A young Malayali woman was killed and nine others, including children, were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Haima, Oman.

The deceased has been identified as Sulekha Shahin, a native of Kundara in Kollam district. The passengers were members of two Malayali families based in the UAE who were travelling together to Oman on a trip.

The accident occurred on Sultan Said bin Taimur Street when their vehicle reportedly lost control, veered off the road and overturned. The Royal Oman Police confirmed the death of one passenger and injuries to nine other Indian nationals in the crash.

Following the accident, emergency services rushed to the spot. Given the severity of the injuries, the Oman Police Air Wing deployed a helicopter to airlift two of the injured to Nizwa Hospital for urgent medical care. The remaining seven injured passengers were taken to the hospital by road ambulances.

The injured include children and their parents, all of whom are currently receiving treatment at Nizwa Hospital.Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
